Not all of us can always take an entire day off.

But what about a half a day?

Or even a few hours?

I’ve recently worked very hard, as an example, to carve out a few hours on Sunday mornings for kind of a mini-Sabbath. It starts about 7 a.m. (Of course, I have to get up before everyone else) and lasts until about 9 or 10 (if I’m lucky).  During that time I get to read, think, listen to music, write, meditate, sip—instead of gulp–my coffee.

It’s heaven.

Remember: Sometimes a “day off” isn’t a full day.

Sometimes even 30-45 minutes can be a “day off.”

And that’s okay.

The key is to do it with intentionality.  Make a choice.

Put it on the calendar.  Make it a non-negotiable part of your life.

Nobody’s going to give it to you.  But you should have it.  Because you deserve it.

And you know why you deserve it?

Because you’re worth it.  TZT
