A journey toward peace, mindfulness, and self-care.
This particular journey started in last week’s 4 Day Zen Teacher No Book “Book” study, where nearly 300 teachers from around the world participated in exercises on gratitude, mindfulness, developing your Zen Practice, and The 5 S’s (Stillness, Silence, Space, Subtraction, and Simplicity).
We got to know each other and made new friends.
We learned new tools and created new habits.
We learned and grew and worked on our self-care practices.
But the truth is, we barely scratched the surface.
And many of us in the group are still wanting more.
Many expressed the desire to go deeper and keep learning.
To that end, I created THE ZEN TEACHER VIRTUAL RETREAT.
In The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat, you will learn to reduce your stress, improve your focus on the present moment, and develop a personalized self-care plan.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To be in the retreat you do not have to have been a member of the book study. The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat is its own experience.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Like the book study, The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat will take place in a special, closed “pop up” Facebook group that you are given access to when you enroll. It will archived at the end of the course.
Instead of four days, though, this retreat will last 5 weeks!
Why 5 weeks?
Because I will be devoting one week to each of the 5 steps in The Zen Teacher Blueprint
WHAT IS THE ZEN TEACHER BLUEPRINT?
The 5 step Zen Teacher Blueprint is a proven process I developed to help teachers navigate the stressors we, as educators, face on a daily basis.
It’s what I teach in my workshops around the country.
But if you can’t make those, no matter.
The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat can make it happen for you through the magic of whatever device you’re currently using.
Here’s the agenda:
Week 1: INVITING POSSIBILITIES (Where we learn how to be open to new situations. Think: Growth Mindset).
Week 2: CREATING ACCEPTANCE (Where we learn about how to practice Acceptance, Gratitude, Nonjudgment, and Compassion)
Week 3: PRACTICING MINDFULNESS (Where we learn how to live in the present moment)
Week 4: EMBRACING SELF-CARE (Where we create a personalized self-care plan as an armor against the stressors in education
Week 5: CULTIVATING PERSONAL PEACE (So you’ve created all of this peace, serenity, and wisdom. Now what?)
The lessons will be Monday through Friday and you will have the weekend for relaxation, reflection, and implementation.
How much calmer and more serene would your life be if you had FIVE WEEKS to think about stress reduction, self-care, and being in the moment?

The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat is not intended to be just another thing on your to-do list.
Since the retreat exists on Facebook, you participate when you want and when you can.
When YOUR life permits.
And let’s face it, you’re probably going to be on Facebook, anyway, right? And I could be wrong, but I suspect you will probably get more out of The Zen Teacher Virtual Retreat than watching another cat video or taking a quiz to tell which member of the Seinfeld cast you are.
In fact, imagine what you could learn and implement with a fun group coaching experience and a caring, supportive community where like minds are pursuing a teaching practice (and life!) that includes more focus, simplicity, and tranquility.
As a high school teacher, I know that an optimum class size is right around 30, so I am only allowing 30 students to join this time around because I want to be able to create a meaningful experience for everyone who joins. Much like in my “real life” classes, I want to make sure I can get to everyone and give them what they need. So if you miss this time, don’t worry. My plan is to do this about four times a year, so there’s always next time.
