There are two long hauls in the traditional school calendar where there are virtually no days off.
November is the long month between summer and Winter Break.
And March is the long month between Winter Break and Spring Break.
The Long Haul is made up of days.
And days are made up of hours.
So it’s important to remember that you have 100% control over what you do with those hours.
You can choose:
- Stillness
- Silence
- Less
- Music
- Reading
- Family
- Fun
- Joy
- Action
- Productivity
- Or whatever else will get you through and make you happy and content
Now that we are in The Long Haul of March, it might get discouraging if you look ahead to the whole month and say, “How will I ever get through to the 31st?”
Look at this hour, the one right in front of you.
Or even a part of it.
(everybody has five minutes. . .)
And say, “How can I use this time for me?”
Because once you take control of THIS hour, the next one’s not so challenging. TZT
