Self-care is enduring when you think you can’t.

Self-care is setting up margins that protect you from overwork and overscheduling (and consequently, overhwhelm).

Self-care is saying, “This is NOT okay.”

Self-care is indulging in your pamper triggers, those things that make you feel soothed, comforted, and taken care of.

Self-care is stopping to take a breath.

Self-care is noticing that negative tape loop (“Ah. I am such an idiot!”) in your head and redirecting it to a more positive perspective (“I’ve totally got this. I can do this!”).

Self-care is spending quality time with loved ones.

Self-care is listening to your body.

Self-care is taking a break.

Self-care is giving yourself just a few extra minutes. All of the time.

Self-care is taking a nap.

Self-care is that special time with that special someone.

Self-care is reading for pleasure, not because you have to.

Self-care is time at the beginning of the day, in the middle of the day, or at the end of the day that is Just. For. You.

Self-care is meditating (or can be).

Self-care is praying (or can be).

Self-care is not thinking about teaching for a few minutes.

Self-care is a massage or a mani-pedi.

Self-care is listening to your intuition.

Self-care is sitting around doing nothing.

Self-care is listening to your heart.

Self-care is listening to others.

Self-care is saying it’s “good enough.”

Self-care is setting boundaries.

Self-care is honoring and enforcing those boundaries.

Self-care is all of the things that you are probably telling yourself you don’t have the time or energy for but, if you did them, you wouldn’t be telling yourself that at all.

Self-care is knowing you’re worthy.

Self-care is knowing you’re enough.

Self-care is insisting that everyone else recognize that as well. TZT
