What are Zen Teacher Workshops?

dan-zen-teacher-4

The Zen Teacher workshop shows educators how to use Zen-inspired techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, Beginner’s Mind, compassion, gratitude, subtraction, decluttering, gratitude, non-judgment, and intentional and radical self-care to achieve a greater sense of relaxation, peace, and control in the classroom.

This workshop is based on–and includes concepts, anecdotes, and activities–from The Zen Teacher: Creating Focus, Simplicity, and Tranquility in the Classroom and Sanctuaries: Self-Care Secrets For Stressed-Out Teachers. It consists of direct instruction, a Google Slides presentation, several activity sheets, and group discussion.

What will attendees learn?

The workshop will show teachers how to:

  • Act with intention
  • Accept what is
  • Be present in the moment
  • Focus on The Now
  • Show compassion
  • Pay attention
  • Living mindfully
  • Create space
  • Reflect and meditate on their practice
  • Detach from expectations and embrace the “teachable moment”
  • Embrace stillness and subtraction for a greater sense of fulfillment in the classroom

How are they delivered? (In person? Online?)

Workshops can take place:

  • On-site
  • Internet Conference or Webinar
    • Skype, Facetime, Zoom, Google Hangouts
    • We’ll work together to choose the best delivery method.
